Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified eligibility requirements concerning nationality, education, and age to be considered for the post.

  • Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

  • Educational Qualification (as of 21/10/2025): Applicants must have passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination from a recognized board.

    • Relaxation: The educational requirement is relaxable to the 11th pass for the sons/daughters of serving, deceased, or retired Delhi Police personnel (including Multi-Tasking Staff) and for specific roles like bandsmen, buglers, etc., within the Delhi Police.

  • Age Limit (as of 01/07/2025): The candidate must be between 18 and 25 years of age. They should not have been born earlier than July 2, 2000, or later than July 1, 2007.

Age Relaxation:
The upper age limit is relaxable for certain categories:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • Distinguished Sportspersons: 5 years

  • Departmental Candidates (Delhi Police): Up to 40 years (General), 43 years (OBC), and 45 years (SC/ST).

  • Sons/Daughters of Delhi Police Personnel: Up to 29 years.

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the following physical measurement standards:

  • For Male Candidates:

    • Height: 170 cm

    • Chest: 81 cm (with a minimum expansion of 4 cm)

Selection Process

The selection process for the Delhi Police Constable position involves four main stages:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE): This is the first stage, consisting of an objective-type paper carrying 100 marks.

  2. Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT): Candidates who qualify the CBE will be called for this test. It is qualifying in nature and includes races, long jump, and high jump.

  3. Document Verification: Candidates who clear the PE&MT will undergo document verification.

  4. Medical Examination: The final stage is a medical examination to ensure candidates are fit for duty.
